Overview
Simpson University's 90th anniversary was more than a date on the calendar. It was a moment to reconnect alumni, energize current students, and remind the community what nine decades of education looks like. We designed the full campaign — event collateral, promotional materials, merchandise, and environmental graphics for homecoming weekend.
The Problem
Most institutional anniversary materials feel disposable — a logo slapped on a banner. Simpson wanted something with actual craft. Something alumni would keep, not recycle. The design needed to honor tradition while feeling contemporary enough for current students.
The Approach
We built the campaign around a vintage-meets-modern aesthetic. Hand-drawn type mixed with bold contemporary layout. Concert posters, apparel, event signage, and commemorative pieces that felt collectible, not institutional. The homecoming weekend drew record attendance.
