The final approach
Life isn’t always a mountaintop experience. Your business deserves to be seen.

My climb of Mount Shasta began in the dark. The headlamps ahead, the steep snow above Helen Lake, and the long approach beyond Misery Hill became the starting point for this browser experience.
Explore the mountain in contours or mesh, then follow the Avalanche Gulch route from camp into sunrise. An elevation profile tracks the climb before the experience transitions into two AI-generated summit films.
AARON PHELPS / FIELD STUDY 001
An interactive study inspired by my night climb of Mount Shasta’s Avalanche Gulch. Real elevation data and a cleaned reference route become a Three.js landscape, moving from headlamp darkness into a sunlit summit film.
The snow, light, and AI-generated summit films are art-directed interpretations. The climb is compressed into a few minutes.
